mr_daemon<p>It's that yearly moment where I reminisce about my Palm PDAs and Pocket PCs of old, and I realize that I actually miss the stupid Palm Graffiti alphabet as a stylus driven input method.</p><p>When you got good at it, you could jot down things shockingly quick. Unfortunately, It also ended up shaping my already weird and shitty handwriting into something weirder and shittier still.</p><p>I haven't been comfortable taking notes on anything not keyboard driven since.</p><p><a href="https://untrusted.website/tags/Palm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Palm</span></a> <a href="https://untrusted.website/tags/pda" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pda</span></a> <a href="https://untrusted.website/tags/RetroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroComputing</span></a> <a href="https://untrusted.website/tags/PalmOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PalmOS</span></a></p>

Rev. GothAlice<p>I released my first commercial software (CRM under DOS) at the age of 9, and my first open-source project was NetLED: connection status, TX/RX activity using your keyboard's LEDs, written about once in <a href="https://marrow.haus/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> Journal. One fantastic user wrote me to say he used keyboards as his Christmas tree decorations using it.</p><p>Later worked on <a href="https://marrow.haus/tags/PalmOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PalmOS</span></a> apps (VFS QuickBack, FileCaddy, …) then moved to the web with <a href="https://marrow.haus/tags/Perl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Perl</span></a>, eventually <a href="https://marrow.haus/tags/PHP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PHP</span></a>, then ditched it like a hot potato for <a href="https://marrow.haus/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a>.</p><p>It's The Way™.</p>
