Intel Linux Kernel Bug That Nobody Cared To Notice #Linux #YouTube https://youtu.be/-dgUKDQNWhY
Tomorrow is the last day I have physical access to my Linux machine. Then the coworking place I have located my PC in, will be closed for #Nowruz holidays. And I will be stuck with my #HP #Elitebook laptop running #FreeBSD for 6 days straight. And it'll be my development machine. I have plans to setup #Tailscale to remotely access my PC(I hope their network admins won't mind!) which I have to finish tomorrow.
So the question is, how will be my FreeBSD days experience? Will I give up and install #Linux? For starters, I haven't found a GUI application to setup #Bluetooth headphones on my #BSD machine.
Bootc as a project is one with tons of promise and lots of community support. It's what is powering the next generation of Atomic Desktops, CoreOS, and Fedora IoT, not to mention all of the work that @UniversalBlue has done to show off everything that can be done today.
If you want to follow bootc more closely, regular updates from Fedora's end are shared here. :)
Ever worried about other users on your Linux server seeing what processes are running? The `hidepid` kernel feature is your friend! It makes processes invisible to anyone but the owner and root user, even in system monitoring tools like ps, top, htop, and btop. This is a great way to prevent sensitive information (like API keys or passwords used in command-line arguments) from being exposed. See how to configure it https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-hide-processes-from-other-users/ for more info.

Finally, the setting I've been looking for is disabled and I can move on with life. Oh don't worry, it's not in the usual place of course, every device must be special, if that wasn't ensured by the proclivity in Linux towards "yes there are breaking changes which we might not have documented. submit a bug if you find one, we can't be expected to document releases effectively. what, did you expect that is this a BSD phone? lol,no it's android."
Pausing to remind myself that since this is the modern era, finding the answer amongst the vastness of potential data sources and search engine results... the answer was rapidified by asking my local LLM about specific Android version options which are part of the manufacturer's modified UX element tree:
> "On a 'TCL NXTPAPER 40 5G' phone, running TCL-UI version 5.0.YGC0, included in the custom settings for "simulated e-ink paper', related to Accessibility Features, where is the floating button for screen color inversion?"
and there you have it, one query. I should have defaulted to that by default.
also, Gemma3 is very fast on Ollama... now I need to test the quantized version "Fallen-Gemma3-4B-v1g-Q6_K" for a comparison.
I am not really comfortable with uutils, sadly.
Even thou a rewrite in Rust is a nice idea, and I do like the initiative - I do not like the MIT-licensing at all.
